Year 1 - Mrs Woodvine 2023 - 2024

Mrs Rogerson

Mrs Woodvine

Welcome to Year 1!

Our Class Teacher is Mrs Woodvine (covering Mrs Rogerson's maternity leave) and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Roddam.

If you need to have a quick word with a member of staff, please see them at school pick up or drop off. There is always a member of staff on duty. Anything that may require a longer conversation should take place in a pre-arranged meeting. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.

We will also be continuing to use Class Dojo to record your child's achievements and to share class information with you. If you are unable to see your child's profile on Class Dojo, please get in touch.

We have now been awarded the "Step into Quality Award for Year 1" by Lancashire County Council. We include continuous provision in all of our lessons and children are encouraged to challenge and stretch themselves within our engaging areas of provision. We have been very busy updating our provision over the summer holidays to ensure it is engaging, challenging and following the children's interests. As you can see from the images in our gallery, we have kept the environment neutral and calming to allow the children to focus on their self chosen tasks. The enhancements and resources within each area will change as we move through our topics. We will always try to reflect the children's interests and fascinations in our provision.

Our first topic of the school year is "Out of the Ark" in which we will focus on animals and their habitats from around the world. The topic web for our first topic can be downloaded from the bottom of this webpage.

Photographs of the work completed within the topics can be found in our galleries at the bottom of the page.
