Welcome to Year 4

If you need to have a quick word with a member of staff, please see them at school pick up or drop off. There is always a member of staff on duty. Anything that may require a longer conversation should take place in a pre-arranged meeting. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.

During the summer term, some of the year 4 children took part in a residential ventures trip to Hothersall lodge where they learned about elements of christainity and got to experience some amazing outdoor adventures such as rock climbing and canoeing. The children also spent the night there and had to make their own beds which was certainly a challenge for some.

The children have also been set a homework task, to make their own invention. This will be brought in at the start of Autumn 2 and we can see what everybody has made and the cracking contraptions they have come up with. Here are some pictures below.

In Science this half term, we have been looking at electricity and circuits. The children have been busy making different circuits and trying different materials to see if they are conductors or insulators. Over the next few weeks, the children will also design a torch and make the torch using all the things they have learnt about electricity.
