Awards - Spring 2 - 2024/25

ARTICULATION

You have received this award for working so hard towards an important skill that some older children and even adults need help with. You are now almost always able to identify your feelings and talk to a grown-up about them instead of acting impulsively on them. When you started school, you were sometimes frustrated or overwhelmed when things didn’t work out how you wanted. Now you often stop to think before reacting and will find an adult if you need one. You have made us so proud with your ability to express your feelings and also make us laugh with your funny sense of humour. You are a remarkable little girl who has learnt lots about emotions and feelings and now talk about them to others.

CONFIDENCE

I don’t think I need to tell anyone how confident you are! You are always there, always ready for the next activity or experience, and never afraid to have a go.  It's never a surprise when you creep up behind me and shout ‘Boo!’ Just last weekend I needed someone in our class to be brave and be the first to speak in the microphone at the front of a very full church. You took the challenge, found your place at the front of the line and after leading your friends onto the steps, spoke loud and clear for all to hear. This confidence was a shining example to your friends, all 17 of whom spoke into the microphone after you, telling the congregation why they loved their Mummy. With your energetic spirit and cheerful demeanor, you lead not only with your voice but think of others too, encouraging them to join in things they may not have done.

FORGIVENESS

We are so proud of you for showing such remarkable kindness and compassion to everyone in the class. Your ability to forgive others and offer a hand of friendship, no matter the situation, is truly remarkable. You have a beautiful ability to forgive others and offer second chances, making everyone feel accepted and valued. You consistently demonstrate a caring and thoughtful nature, always looking out for others and spreading joy wherever you go. Recently, you have found yourself in situations where you could have easily chosen to argue, but instead, you have shown remarkable forgiveness each time. With your beautiful kindness, you have chosen to move forward and continue as friends, demonstrating the true meaning of forgiveness and understanding. You are a friend to all, always making everyone feel special and included. Your caring nature and thoughtful spirit make you an incredible friend, and your classmates are truly lucky to have you. Your beautiful heart and genuine spirit make you a shining example of friendship and care. We are so grateful to have you in our class and watch you grow and flourish in such a wonderful way and for the wonderful example you set each day.

GENEROSITY

You are the kind of person who makes the world a better place simply by being in it. Your generosity shines in everything you do, not because you have to, but because it’s who you are. You are a true friend to others, always putting their needs before your own and showing kindness in ways that make a real difference. Recently, you have demonstrated an incredible level of selflessness. You don’t just think about yourself—you think about how you can help those around you. Whether it’s making sure someone else gets what they need, even when it means giving up something you are entitled to, or simply offering a kind word at just the right moment, your generosity knows no bounds. Your kindness does not go unnoticed. You remind us all that true generosity isn’t just about giving things away—it’s about giving of yourself. We are so proud of you, and you truly deserve this award.

HAPPINESS

Since you started in year 4, you have really been a breath of fresh air and always enter the classroom with a spring in your step and ready to learn. You are always the first one on task and this is done with such a passion and commitment to learning. Your happiness is evident throughout the day and you always go above and beyond to ask staff and peers how they are and whether they have had a good day. This lovely gesture is constantly noticed by many of the staff around school. You are always willing to contribute to class discussion and take part at any opportunity with such intelligence and confidence. You have a fantastic sense of humour and love to make people laugh and you are always the first one to cheer people up when then need it. You also take such pride in your work and always do this with a huge smile on your face. You really are a very happy young boy and it really has been a pleasure to teach you so far this year. You bring happiness to us all on a daily basis and you certainly are a ray of sunshine. Please keep being your happy self and keep up the hard work because it is certainly paying off.

You lead with kindness, always standing up for what is good and fair, and you never hesitate to express your gratitude and appreciation for those around you. Your words leave a lasting impact on everyone around you - even me! In the classroom, your determination is inspiring. JOY

You embody our school value of Joy. You light up any room you are in with your smiles, giggles and attitude towards school. What truly stands out about you is your deep thoughtfulness toward your friends. You are always there for those you care about, listening, supporting, and offering kindness in ways that make others feel truly valued. Whether it’s helping your friends with challenges, sharing a kind word, or simply being there when your friends are sad, you show us that joy is not only in what we receive, but in what we give. Your thoughtfulness and generosity towards your friends are a beautiful expression of the joy you carry within. Additionally, you embrace every challenge set before you at school with determination and grace. You face each obstacle not with fear, but with the confidence that comes from knowing you are capable and supported by those around you. In this way, you show us that true joy comes from persevering through challenges, trusting in God’s plan, and growing stronger along the way. Well done, keep bringing joy with you into our school and sharing that joy with others. Our classroom is a much brighter place with you in it.

JUSTICE

People say that you never really understand a person until you consider things from their point of view – until you climb into their skin and walk around in it. Recently, you have shown your mature ability to understand issues from differing perspectives. I have been absolutely thrilled to see how you have taken on board our English unit of work of discussion texts and have applied it to different scenarios. Each time, you have chosen a topic from the news and thought about how different people might be affected by it, how to explain clearly and concisely arguments from differing points of view and how to create a text that is just, fair and balanced. This has sparked the class’ interest and provoked us all to think more in depth about current issues. It has opened our minds as to how we can better see more than one point of view. You have inspired us to write a letter to the producers of slushies to fight for a healthier and more just ingredient list that is safe for children to consume. Well done, we are so proud of you.

KINDNESS

Kindness begins with the understanding that we all struggle and you make this more than evident every day in the classroom. Your kind words are often short and easy to speak but their echoes in the classroom are endless. Smiles often flourish when you are near. If I look over in your direction, you are time and again quietly and efficiently giving up your time to help others around you. You have a deep understanding of what it means to be ‘in this together’ and this ability to recognize that you are part of something bigger than yourself is incredible to see at such a young age.  Not once have you expected anything in return but today, this is your reward. Well done, you more than deserve this award for truly being one of the kindest children I have ever had the pleasure to come across.

RESILIENCE

It is an honour to present this resilience award to someone who has shown incredible strength, determination, and positivity this half term. You are an absolute example of what resilience truly means. Despite facing difficult challenges at home, you’ve managed to come to school every day with a bright, vibrant smile that lights up the year 5 classroom and our school. Your ability to bring happiness and joy to those around you, no matter what you might be going through, is nothing short of being a true inspiration. You have an incredible sense of humour, and your laughter is contagious—thank you for always making us smile. Your resilience is also reflected in your unwavering commitment to self-improvement. Whether it’s bettering your management of time during tests or mastering a tricky math concept, you always approach every challenge with such determination and a true desire to grow. Your hard work and effort have been clear to see, and you are a true example of perseverance. You’ve shown us all what it means to never give up, no matter the obstacles. You are an inspiration, and this award is well-deserved. Congratulations, and thank you for being such a positive young girl in our class and school!

SERVICE

It is my pleasure to write the tribute for the service award to someone who has truly demonstrated what it means to serve others. You have been an absolute shining beacon of service in the year 5 classroom. You are always one of the first to offer your help and support, whether it’s to me, other members of staff, or your classmates. Your willingness to lend a hand is matched only by your dedication and hard work, and you always follow through with a positive attitude. But your acts of service don’t stop in the classroom. As a school buddy to the Reception class, you have gone above and beyond, becoming a true role model to the younger pupils. You take your role seriously and consistently show them kindness, care, and patience. You make sure they feel supported, and you lead by example every day. Even when some of the Year 5 children are away, you step up, taking on extra buddies and reading to groups of Reception children on Friday afternoons. Your generosity and commitment to serving others is truly inspiring. Your selflessness and dedication make a big difference in the lives of those around you. You are a wonderful example of the power of service, and this award is a testament to all the good you do. Congratulations, and thank you for everything you do to make our class and school a better place!
