Awards - Summer 1 - 2025/26

ARTICULATION

You have shown wonderful progress in developing your articulation skills this year. You are beginning to explain how you feel using your words rather than reacting, showing growing confidence in expressing your emotions in a positive way. You often seek out an adult to tell them how you are feeling. This has had a lovely impact on friendships and play with others.  You are also beginning to transfer these skills into your learning, particularly in Maths, where you are increasingly using mathematical language to explain your thinking and reasoning which you proudly share with the rest of the class. You love to use the new vocabulary that we learn, showing how hard you are trying during learning time. We are so proud of the progress you have made in finding your voice and sharing your ideas with others. Well done!

CONFIDENCE

This term, you have shown a huge improvement in your confidence. You have worked incredibly hard to become more confident in all areas of school life. Last term, you sometimes found learning challenging and needed extra reassurance when tasks felt difficult. However, now you are putting much more effort into your writing, listening carefully to instructions and giving your full attention during lessons. When work is challenging, you are showing much greater resilience and are able to stay focused and complete your tasks independently. Showing us all how ready for Year 3 you truly are!  I am very proud of the progress you have made this term. You have shown that confidence means having a go, even when something feels difficult. If you keep approaching your learning with the same positive attitude and determination, you will continue to make fantastic progress! Well done on the wonderful improvement you have made this term.

FORGIVENESS

Today, we celebrate a wonderful member of our Year 5 family who truly shines as a role model for our Christian value of forgiveness. You show us all what it means to be a great friend. You understand that friendships are not always perfect, but through forgiveness, understanding and tolerance, they can grow even stronger. You remind us that giving someone another chance, or helping to put things right are powerful acts of kindness. Whether on the playground, during group work, or in everyday moments, we notice how you are a calm and thoughtful influence on those around you. When things feel tricky, you don’t add to the problem - you help solve it. You listen carefully, think wisely, and help others find a way forward. This shows a level of maturity far beyond your years. You help to bring peace where there might be disagreement, and kindness where there might be hurt. Your gentle way, warm smile, and positive spirit make your presence a joy to be around. You are fun, caring, and always make others feel included and valued. You truly live out God’s word: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other.” (Ephesians 4:32) By the way you treat others, you remind us all how important forgiveness is - not just as a value we talk about, but as something we live every day. We are so proud of you. You are a shining example to us all.

GENEROSITY

You are more than deserving of this award for being incredibly generous every day. A perfect example of this is your amazing commitment to walk all the way from Preston to Morecambe to raise money for a charity that is close to your heart. That is a very long journey, and it won’t be easy but you understand how much of a difference it will make to others. What a kind and thoughtful thing to do! Your generosity shines in everything you do at school. Every week, you bring in something beautiful that you have made at home and kindly share it with your friends and teachers. We love receiving your bracelets and rings and they always brighten our day and make us smile. You also go the extra mile by making special little gifts for our Stars of the Week. That is such a thoughtful and caring thing to do and it shows how much you enjoy celebrating others. Many adults in school and even people in the wider community often talk about your kindness. At the school disco, for example, you noticed a child who was upset and took the time to care for them. A parent shared how lovely you were and it made us all so proud. Thank you, for bringing so much generosity and kindness into our classroom and our school. We are incredibly proud of you and the difference you are making every single day.

HAPPINESS

Today, we celebrate a very special member of our Year 5 family who truly shines with the value of happiness. Your journey this year has been a real pleasure to watch. At the start of the year, school sometimes felt tricky. There were moments when you felt unsure, a little anxious, and found it hard to feel confident in the classroom. You were sometimes quiet, often keeping your thoughts to yourself - but even then, we could see the potential inside you. And what a journey it has been since then! Now, you walk into school each day with a big smile, ready to learn and take on new challenges with confidence and positivity. You have found your voice - and what a wonderful voice it is! You share your ideas, volunteer your thoughts, and bravely read aloud in class. You work brilliantly with others, happily joining in with any partner or group, showing kindness, teamwork and enthusiasm. Your positivity shines through in everything you do, and it lifts those around you too. You remind us all how important it is to keep going, to believe in ourselves, and to find joy in learning and being part of our school family. You reflect these words from the Bible: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24) We are so proud of how far you have come. Keep smiling, keep believing, and keep shining - you are an inspiration to us all.

INDIVIDUALITY

It is wonderful to see you so proudly celebrating your own and your friends’ achievements; from the gymnastics competition to your dance show and wonderful home learning. You work hard at the things you love and are proud of the results. I have enjoyed getting to see your sense of humour and caring nature. Your friends love to be around you and play your games. You are so much fun to be around. You have shared your interests with the class during “show and tell” and speak confidently in front of the audience. Your stories show great creativity and a sense of adventure.

INTEGRITY

Integrity is often revealed in the moments that nobody else fully sees — the internal battles, the doubts, the decision to keep going anyway. At the beginning of this year, I do not think you truly saw in yourself what the rest of us could already see so clearly. You lacked belief in just how capable you really were. It was frustrating at times, because the potential was there for everyone to see except you. But something has changed in recent months. You have started to trust yourself. To back yourself. To walk into challenges believing that you can succeed rather than fearing that you cannot. And because of that, you have reached incredible new heights in what you have achieved this year. What has impressed me most is not simply the outcomes themselves, but the strength of character it has taken to get there. You have pushed through self-doubt. You have listened to feedback. You have persevered when things felt difficult. And slowly, steadily, you have become more confident in your own abilities. All of us are so proud of the strong, capable and determined young woman you are growing into. That belief you have started to build in yourself is powerful and will push you on to great things. Keep that self-belief burning inside you, because once you truly believe in yourself, there is very little that will stand in your way. Well done.

JOY

You have brought so much joy to our Reception class this year. At the start of the year, you found it difficult to join in with activities without the support of an adult, but the progress you have made has been wonderful to see. You now join in with a huge smile, lots of enthusiasm and a growing confidence that lights up the classroom. You love chatting to the adults around school and always has a little story to share, bringing smiles to everyone you meet. Each morning, you run into school full of excitement, eager to see the grown-ups and your friends. You have built some truly lovely friendships and relationships and have become such a happy and valued member of our class community. We are so proud of the joyful, confident little girl you are becoming. Well done!

JUSTICE

You truly deserve this award for showing our school value of justice each and every day. You are an incredibly fair, honest and supportive member of our class. We all see you as a fantastic team player who is always ready to help others. You are often the first to offer kind words of encouragement or to gently explain the right way to do something. Adults across the school notice this too. They see you as someone who can lead others in a fair and thoughtful way. Miss Hindle describes you as somebody that should be on EVERY sports team because of the way you listen carefully, you understand how others feel and you respond so kindly that people naturally want to follow your example. There have been many times when you have helped to mend friendships, bring people together and made sure that everyone feels included and valued. That takes real kindness and fairness. You are a shining example of all our school values, but justice suits you perfectly because you always try to do the right thing and help others to do the same. Thank you for being such a positive role model and a bright light in our class. We are so proud of you.

KINDNESS

You are a wonderful example of kindness in action. You are always there for others, ready to help without hesitation and consistently go above and beyond to make a difference. No task is ever too big, and you offer your support with a genuine willingness that makes everyone around you feel valued. What truly sets you apart is the empathy you show each day. You instinctively understand when someone needs a kind word or a helping hand, and you respond with warmth and care. As a friend, you are reliable, thoughtful and always ensure that no one feels left out. Your positivity is infectious, and your constant smile brightens the classroom. You approach every situation with a ‘can do’ attitude, lifting others up and creating a supportive, happy environment for all. You are a credit to our school and a shining example of what it means to be truly kind and the impact that can have on those around you.

RESILIENCE

We were absolutely blown away by the determination and perseverance you showed during your two-day Bikeability course. On the first day, you arrived feeling a little nervous and unsure. Riding a bike wasn’t something you had much experience in, and it would have been easy to step back- but you didn’t. Instead, you showed incredible courage. You threw yourself into the experience, listened carefully, took on every piece of feedback, and made the most of every moment to practise, practise, practise! And what happened next was simply amazing. By day two, you had caught up with your friends- quite literally- riding confidently on the road! Even the instructors commented on your exceptional progress, saying they had never seen such resilience before: going from a non-rider to riding on the road in just two days. What an achievement! What makes this even more special is that this quiet determination is something we see in you every single day. In the classroom, you rise to challenges, share your ideas- even when you’re unsure- and keep going, no matter what. Because of this, you have made truly outstanding progress this year. We are so proud of you. Your resilience, determination, and modesty make you a brilliant role model for us all. Keep going—you are amazing!

SERVICE

Service is not about recognition. In fact, some of the best examples of it happen quietly, without applause, without attention, and often without anybody else even noticing. You are always there to lend a helping hand. You are kind, caring and conscientious in the way you approach other people, and that comes through in the little things you do each day around school. You look for ways to help because that is simply who you are. A perfect example came just a few weeks ago when you helped repair another child’s bike. What struck me most was not just that you fixed it, but how you did it. You were calm, patient and polite throughout. You talked both the child (and me!) through the process carefully, never making a fuss or drawing attention to yourself. But above all else, it was the humility you showed that stood out. You expected no thanks. No praise. No recognition. You helped because it was the right thing to do. That was your only motivation. That says more about your character than any award ever could. The way you serve others - quietly, thoughtfully and without expectation - makes you a wonderful example to everybody around you. We as a school are very lucky to have you, and very proud of the young man you are becoming. Well done.
