Awards - Spring 1 - 2025/26
ARTICULATION
You have shown a real gift for explaining your ideas and using our new vocabulary confidently. In maths, you love talking through your reasoning step by step, helping your friends understand how you’re thinking. When we are playing in the provision, you often spark great discussions around you. You listen carefully, and join in thoughtfully. One of our favourite moments this term was during an art lesson, when you were creating a portrait with charcoal. You described the shadows and textures you wanted to show. You explained where the rough and smooth parts would be using the brilliant new vocabulary you’ve learned. It was a lovely example of how confidently you use words to share your thoughts. Although you can be quieter with new people or in busy situations, you have shown that big ideas can come from even the smallest voices. What an example you have been to the whole class. Well done.
CONFIDENCE
This award goes to you for the incredible confidence you show every single day. You have a story for absolutely everything, and you are always the very first person to volunteer when a new activity comes along. Your enthusiasm is infectious and brings so much joy to our classroom. Recently, during auditions for our talent showcase, you hadn’t entered, but that didn’t stop you! With a big smile, you asked if you could show us a dance. You confidently stood at the front of the class and treated us to some amazing dance moves that had everyone cheering! This confidence isn’t new for you. You opened the class worship for us in church, using your loud voice and contagious smile to lead the way. Your bravery has encouraged so many other children to speak in front of others, especially when they’ve been feeling nervous. That is a truly special gift. Your enthusiasm to share ideas always comes from a place of joy, eagerness, and genuine engagement. Your energy lifts everyone around you. Your confidence is something really wonderful. Keep shining, keep sharing your ideas, and keep inspiring others the way you do now. We are all so proud of you.
FORGIVENESS
This term, we would like to give this award to you for showing something truly special, the quiet strength of forgiveness. You have shown great kindness, courage and maturity in the way you have cared for others and chosen friendship. You remind us that being kind is not always the easiest choice, but it is always the most powerful one. You are always thoughtful towards others and do your best to calm and resolve difficult situations with kindness and care. You shine with kindness and we are very lucky to have you in our class. Your warm heart and thoughtful choices have helped make our classroom a calmer and kinder place for everyone. We are so proud of the compassion you have shown and the beautiful example you set for everyone around you.
GENEROSITY
You shine brightly as a true example of generosity in action. You give your time, your care and your attention freely and always whilst smiling - sometimes so much so that you are bouncing out of your seat! You are always the quickest off the mark to help those around you, ready to support anyone in need with kindness and thoughtfulness. You also share your knowledge confidently and openly - you are more than generous with your ideas. You explain tricky subjects clearly, support others in their understanding and make sure that everyone feels included and able to succeed. Your willingness to help, to guide, and to share your knowledge so freely and selflessly is a true testament to your generous spirit. You are also a fantastic team player. This is because you are always thinking of others. You ensure that everyone has a chance to contribute and shine. A perfect example of this was during Forest School when we built a human bird nest. You not only supported your group but encouraged others to take the lead, celebrating their ideas while quietly strengthening the team with your steady kindness. Your generosity truly knows no bounds. Whether offering your time, your knowledge, or your support, you show us every day what it means to give wholeheartedly.
HAPPINESS
She brings the true spirit of happiness wherever she goes. Every morning, she skips into the classroom with a bright, cheerful smile that stretches from ear to ear. Her happy‑go‑lucky nature means she never lets anything bother her for long; she simply carries on with laughter which always spreads joy without even trying. One of the most wonderful things about her is her confidence to be her true self. She embraces her individuality with pride and delight. A perfect example is the day she strolled into school wearing her cool leopard‑print fur hat with her uniform. This, of course, was paired with her trademark big grin. That single moment lifted the spirits of so many people, reminding us how happiness can be shared through the simplest acts of self‑expression. She loves school and her smile says it all. Whether she’s learning, playing, helping, or simply chatting with friends, her joy is genuine and it radiates outwards. She brightens the room without even trying, making everyone around her feel lighter and happier. Her happiness inspires others to be cheerful, confident, and comfortable in their own skin. Thank you, for making ME happy with your incredible smile and delightful giggles.
INDIVIDUALITY
You show us every day what it looks like to be confident in who you are. From the moment you step into the classroom, you show us the power of being true to yourself. You arrive each day with a smile, a spring in your step, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning that sets a positive tone for everyone around you. What makes you stand out is the confidence you have in being you. Every day, you remind us that individuality is a strength worth celebrating. You make your own choices, follow your own path, and think in your own wonderfully creative way and that takes maturity beyond your years. Your humour brings energy and warmth to our classroom. You have a rare ability to make others laugh or lift someone’s spirits when they need it most. Wherever you go, you bring joy, kindness, and a spark of fun that never goes unnoticed. Thank you for showing us that the world is brighter when people embrace who they truly are. Keep being brave, keep being joyful, and above all, keep being yourself. Our classroom and our school is a better place because of the light you bring into it.
INTEGRITY
We are delighted to recognise her for her outstanding integrity. She is someone who consistently demonstrates honesty, responsibility, and maturity in everything she does. She always behaves sensibly and thoughtfully, making choices that reflect her strong moral compass. She naturally acts as a role model to her peers, showing them what it means to be kind, respectful, and reliable. When situations call for it, she can be confidently assertive- never afraid to stand up for what is right, even if it means speaking out or making a difficult choice. One of her greatest strengths is the way she manages conflict. With empathy, fairness, and calmness, she helps her peers navigate disagreements and find solutions that respect everyone involved. Her balanced and mature perspective shines through both socially and academically. In her learning, her integrity is evident in the care she puts into her work. She produces beautifully crafted writing, always taking the time to think deeply and express herself with clarity and purpose. What makes her truly remarkable is that she carries the same positive values everywhere she goes- in the playground, in the classroom, and around the school. Her integrity is not just something she shows occasionally; it is a part of who she is every day. We are incredibly proud of you. We know that you will prove to be a trusted and responsible member of Year 6 and beyond as you are a shining example of what it means to lead with integrity.
JOY
He brings so much joy to our classroom. He lifts the spirits of those around him, brightens even the busiest of days, and approaches learning with enthusiasm, kindness, and a big smile. He has a wonderful way of finding happiness in the little moments, whether it’s solving a tricky problem, joining in with a game, or spotting something funny that makes everyone giggle. His cheerful attitude spreads quickly, and his friends love being around him. He helps others feel positive and confident too. One of the loveliest things about him is how he celebrates others. When a friend succeeds, he’s the first to cheer them on. When someone feels unsure, he offers encouraging words that help them feel brave again. His joy is never just for himself because he shares it generously. His energy fills the room and reminds us all that learning should be full of laughter and delight. Well done. You truly shine with the value of joy.
JUSTICE
He shows the value of justice in such a thoughtful and genuine way. He tries hard to be fair, to include others, and to help keep our classroom a place where everyone feels respected. A lovely example of this happened during a game of dominoes in the classroom. He had already started playing with a friend when another child asked to join in. Instead of saying it was too late, he paused, thought carefully, and invited the child to be his partner so they could share turns. It was a small moment, but a perfect act of fairness and kindness, making sure nobody was left out. Another moment that showed his sense of justice took place in PE. The class had been asked to bring only their mats back, but one child started bringing back extra equipment by mistake. He gently reminded them of the instruction and helped them understand what they needed to do. He used his voice kindly and calmly, supporting a friend to get back on track without making them feel embarrassed. Whether he is explaining his thinking in lessons, playing with friends, or helping others follow the rules, he shows justice through thoughtful, patient, fair actions. Well done. You truly bring the value of justice to life.
KINDNESS
He is a shining example of what it means to follow our Golden Rules every single day. He consistently demonstrates respect and kindness, making him a model pupil within our Year 5 community. Always ready to learn, he shows the utmost respect to any teacher he stands before- listening attentively, following instructions straight away, and participating with enthusiasm, integrity, and a genuine desire to do his best. He is the kind of pupil who can work with absolutely anyone. His calm, positive attitude, paired with his natural ability to get along with others, means he helps create a warm, cooperative atmosphere in every group he joins. He avoids conflict, encourages others, and brings out the best in those around him. Kindness is at the core of everything he does. Whether he is supporting his buddy, helping classmates, or enjoying playtime on the playground, he consistently makes thoughtful, fair choices. Even in the most competitive football matches, he plays with honesty, fairness, and a smile- showing that fun and kindness go hand in hand. He is also regularly rewarded with our class mascot, Dave the Sloth, and each time, he accepts this recognition with wonderful modesty. He never boasts or draws attention to himself; instead, he quietly continues to be the same considerate, hard-working, and kind-hearted pupil we are all so proud of. He is not just a role model- he makes our school a better place simply by being in it.
RESILIENCE
She demonstrates truly remarkable resilience- resilience that inspires both her peers and her teachers. After experiencing a nasty accident that required surgery on her thumb, and on her writing hand no less, many children would have understandably struggled to adjust. But not her. Instead, she approached the challenge with maturity, optimism, and a ‘can‑do’ attitude. She adapted brilliantly: using an iPad to record her work, and even practising writing with her left hand so she could continue to learn without interruption. Her exceptional work ethic never faltered for a moment. Despite what could have been a major setback, she continued to produce phenomenal work, showing everyone what true determination looks like. Her resilience extends far beyond the classroom. In our recent Creative Games unit in PE, she displayed exceptional leadership- guiding her team with honesty, assertiveness, and respect. When challenges arose, she encouraged her teammates to adapt, cooperate, and persevere. Her ability to remain calm, listen to others, and compromise when needed made every member of her team feel valued and supported. We are incredibly proud of you. Your resilience, strength of character, and positive spirit make you a role model in our school. There is no doubt you have the qualities of a future leader, and we cannot wait to see all the amazing things you will continue to achieve. Well done - you are truly exceptional!
SERVICE
Service is not always the grand gesture. More often than not, it is the quiet decision to do the right thing when nobody is watching. I think of you at the end of lunchtime - sweeping the hall floor without fuss, without being asked, simply because it needs doing. You don’t look around to see who is noticing. You don’t expect thanks. You just get on with it. That says a lot about you. You care about your roles. You care about representing the school properly, whether that is during sports competitions or in the way you wear your badge each day. You understand that when you step outside of school in a St. Lawrence jumper, you carry more than just yourself. You carry our name. And you do so with maturity and pride. You live out our school vision in the everyday moments. Not loudly. Not performatively. But consistently. You want to be the best version of yourself...and you work hard at that. Not even in the classroom, but when you are at home too. You ask for feedback. You listen. You respond to constructive criticism. You adjust. You improve. That willingness to grow, to quietly refine yourself, is something people don’t always see. But it is there. And it matters. The service you have shown to your progress this year has been inspiring. Your service is steady. It is thoughtful. It is genuine. And it makes our school a better place to be. People should look to you when we consider the importance of service to our community. We are incredibly proud to have you represent us and even prouder of the person you are becoming. Well done.
